“Just One Person” — The Power of Giving Back
"But what can I do,
I am just one person"
said 7 billion people...
It’s a quote that stops you in your tracks.
If none of us believed we could make a difference, or that someone else can do it better, imagine what our world would be like. It would be a dark, lonely place.
Conversely, if we all believed we could make a difference, imagine what our world would be like. A world where people truly mattered, a world where the helpers and the vulnerable lived in harmony.
Maybe a better question to ask is “But what CAN’T I do, I am one of 7 billion people wanting to make a difference.” Imagine 7 Billion people making a difference, the size of the tsunami which would erupt out of that ripple you created by smiling at a stranger.
Giving back doesn’t require fame, fortune, or a massive platform. It starts with showing up. Volunteering your time. Mentoring someone who needs guidance. Donating what you can. Listening deeply. Smiling at a stranger. These are not grand gestures, but they are deeply human ones—and they matter.
And that’s the truth: giving back isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present.
So the next time you hear that voice
“But I’m just one person”
remember: that’s exactly who the world needs. One person who chooses to care. One person who refuses to wait for someone else to fix things. One person who believes that small actions, multiplied by many, can change everything.
