Giving Back Opportunity: Non Profit Staff Lounge Support

Be Kind 5 supports local shelters and non profit staff spaces.

In this work, change doesn’t always arrive loudly.

Often, it shows up quietly—in how people are supported, valued, and given space to breathe.

Through recent shelter support at Solid Ground, Be Kind 5 reminded that meaningful impact isn’t only about the services we provide. It’s also about the environments we create for the people delivering that care every single day.

Shelter work carries urgency, complexity, and deep emotional labor. Staff hold stories of trauma, resilience, loss, and hope while navigating systems that are often stretched thin. When we talk about sustainability in this work, we have to include the wellbeing of those showing up consistently for others.

That’s why the creation of a staff lounge matters.

Recovery Is Part of the Work

Spaces designed for pause and restoration are not extras—they are essential. A place to step away, regulate, and reconnect with oneself allows staff to return to their work with greater clarity, presence, and resilience.

What makes these spaces truly impactful isn’t just their function—it’s the feeling they create.

Thoughtful design has the power to communicate safety, care, and appreciation without saying a word. When a space feels grounding, calm, and human, it supports the nervous system in ways that policies and programs alone cannot. Creating a felt sense of comfort and dignity is vital in environments designed for incredible humans doing incredibly hard work.

When organizations invest in these kinds of spaces, they send a clear message:
You matter here. Your wellbeing is part of the mission.

This isn’t just compassionate leadership—it’s sustainable systems design.

Supporting work that recognizes staff as whole humans—to be cared for, not just counted on—feels deeply aligned with the values I hold as a coach and collaborator.

When we care for the caregivers, we strengthen the entire ecosystem.

Small, thoughtful changes like this ripple outward. They influence culture, retention, morale, and ultimately, the quality of care offered to the community.

We are grateful to witness—and contribute to—work that understands that how something feels matters just as much as how it functions

Check out the transformation.

Give Big 2026

Give Big 2026

Click here to reach the Be Kind 5’s Give Big donation page!

When you give to Be Kind 5, you are directly investing in youth empowerment, kindness education, and spaces where young people can grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

Funds raised during Give Big 2026 help us meet youth where they are — emotionally, socially, and developmentally — and give them the tools to thrive.

Your support helps fund:

🌱 Youth Empowerment Programming

Give Big donations allow Be Kind 5 to continue developing and offering youth‑led programming that focuses on:

  • Emotional awareness and mental health conversations

  • Confidence, self‑worth, and leadership skills

  • Finding purpose through giving back and service

  • Learning how kindness can create real change at school, home, and in the community

These programs are designed to empower youth voice, encourage self‑reflection, and help young people understand that who they are and how they show up matters.

🎒 Youth Guides, Mentorship, and Leadership Development

Funds support youth guides and mentors who help:

  • Identify meaningful giving‑back opportunities for youth

  • Guide reflection through writing, storytelling, and creative expression

  • Support youth in sharing their leadership journey with peers and the community

This mentorship model creates a ripple effect — youth supporting youth, backed by caring adults.

💬 Mental Health & Well‑Being Tools

Be Kind 5 programming aligns with our five pillars:

  • Mental Health

  • Physical Health

  • Giving Back

  • Earth Service

  • Financial Health

Give Big support helps us create accessible tools, conversations, and resources that normalize talking about feelings, stress, burnout, and self‑kindness — for youth and the adults who support them.

At Be Kind 5, we believe creating the right feeling matters — especially for young people navigating a loud, fast, and often overwhelming world.

Why This Matters

Youth don’t need to be fixed — they need to be supported, trusted, and invited into their own leadership.

Every Give Big gift helps us continue building programming that says:

You matter. Your kindness matters. And your voice can change the world.

💛 Join Us During Give Big 2026

Holiday Giving Support for LifeWire Shelter

Holiday Giving Support for LifeWire Shelter

This holiday season, Be Kind 5 is partnering with LifeWire to bring joy and dignity to survivors of domestic violence. Our goal is to empower families by giving them the autonomy to choose gifts that best fit their needs and traditions.

Here’s how we’re simplifying giving this year:

  • We will provide $250 gift cards to families living in one-bedroom apartments.

  • We will provide $500 gift cards to families living in two-bedroom apartments.

This approach promotes equity and choice, ensuring that every family can celebrate the holidays in a way that feels right for them.

Your generosity makes a difference. Together, we can create a season of hope and kindness for those who need it most.

Be Kind 5 will accept online donations by clicking here (and turn in this cash into gift cards) or you can purchase gift cards and we can pick up from you and we will deliver these to LifeWire by December 5th.

Thank you for your continued support year after year for the shelters we continue to support!
